AVR Advisory Effective 20 July 2026

Who I am

AVR Advisory is the consulting trading name of Victor Alexander Pty Ltd (ABN 52 696 887 242), a company registered in Victoria, Australia. The practice is founded and operated by one person, Andy Ralphs, and this policy is written in the first person for that reason. References to "I", "me" and "my" are references to Victor Alexander Pty Ltd trading as AVR Advisory.

I handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what I collect, why, how it is held, and your rights.

What this policy does not cover

Confidential business information belonging to client organisations is governed by the terms of each engagement, including its confidentiality obligations, not by this policy. This policy covers personal information: information about identifiable individuals.

What I collect

In the ordinary course of running an advisory practice I collect and hold:

  • Business contact information: names, job titles, organisations, work email addresses and phone numbers of clients, prospective clients, supplier and partner representatives, and professional contacts.

  • Correspondence: emails, messages and letters exchanged with me, including anything you choose to include in them.

  • Meeting records: notes and, where participants are aware a tool is in use, transcripts and summaries of professional conversations.

  • Billing information: the details needed to issue and reconcile invoices, such as accounts payable contacts and purchase order references.

  • Website data: aggregate analytics about visits to avradvisory.com.au, described under Cookies and analytics below.

I do not collect sensitive information, such as health, racial, religious or political information, in the ordinary course of business, and I ask that you do not send it to me.

How I collect and hold it

I collect personal information directly from you, from your organisation in the course of an engagement, or from public professional sources such as LinkedIn and company websites.

Information is held in a small set of reputable cloud services used to run the practice: email and productivity tools, file storage, accounting software, and note-taking and AI-assisted work tools. These providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own security and privacy commitments. Access to the practice's systems is limited to the director and protected by strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and encryption in transit and at rest.

Why I collect it

I use personal information to:

  • deliver and manage consulting engagements

  • communicate with clients, prospective clients and professional contacts

  • issue invoices, keep accounts, and meet tax and corporate record-keeping obligations

  • maintain the security of my systems

  • understand aggregate use of the website.

I do not send bulk marketing email. If I contact you, it will be individually and professionally. I do not sell or trade personal information.

Who I disclose it to

Personal information may be disclosed to the service providers described above, to professional advisers such as my accountant, insurer or lawyer where necessary, and where disclosure is required or authorised by law.

Cookies and analytics

avradvisory.com.au is built on Squarespace, which sets essential cookies required for the site to function and, where analytics are enabled, cookies that produce aggregate statistics about site traffic. I use those statistics only to understand how the site is used. The site carries no advertising trackers. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings and the site will still work.

How long I keep it

I keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it. Financial and engagement records are retained for at least seven years to meet obligations under Australian tax and corporations law.

Access and correction

You can ask what personal information I hold about you, request a copy, or ask me to correct it by emailing privacy@avradvisory.com.au. I will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Complaints

If you believe I have mishandled your personal information, email privacy@avradvisory.com.au with the details. I will acknowledge your complaint promptly, investigate it, and reply with a substantive response. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Data breaches

If I become aware of a suspected data breach involving personal information, I will assess it promptly and, where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

I will update this policy as the practice or the law changes and post the current version, with its effective date, on this page.
